Life Sciences

Researchers in the Faculties of Life Science (Biology and Biochemistry) at the Weizmann Institute of Science are committed to unraveling the intricacies of life – from the minutiae of individual molecules and cellular signaling pathways to the complexity of whole organisms and behavior. Our research spans various fields, including bimolecular science, immunology, molecular and cell biology, molecular genetics, neuroscience, plant science and regenerative medicine. Our scientists pioneering innovative technologies and employ cutting-edge techniques and big data methodologies across disciplines.

Supported by state-of-the-art life science core facilities, encompassing bioinformatics, multi-omics, microscopy, as well as medicinal chemistry and drug discovery units, our researchers aim to uncover the mechanisms governing life at all scales.

Mathematics and Computer Science

Study theoretical mathematics in areas such as geometry, algebra, analysis, and probability, alongside applied mathematics and theoretical computer Science – ranging from the development of theories that challenge the boundaries of cryptography and complexity theory, to the realms of algorithms and quantum computing. Expand the boundaries of knowledge by integrating machine learning, artificial intelligence, and bioinformatics, while fostering multidisciplinary collaboration in cutting-edge research.

About the Weizmann Institute of Science and Weizmann School of Science
