PhD candidates nearing graduation at international research institutes, as well as those who earned their doctorate within the past two years, are invited to apply.

This Visit Stage serves as the initial pathway toward a postdoctoral position at one of the world’s leading research institutes.

 

The Weizmann Institute of Science, located in Rehovot, Israel, is a leading research institution with a global reputation for pioneering discoveries in multiple scientific disciplines. Named after Dr. Chaim Weizmann, Israel’s first president and a prominent chemist, the Institute was founded in 1934 and has since become one of the world’s foremost centers for scientific research and higher education.

The Weizmann Institute focuses on seven primary research areas: life sciences, earth science, chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, and science education. Its scientists have made transformative discoveries, including breakthroughs in cancer treatment, regenerative medicine, and alternative energy solutions. Program Highlights

The Outstanding International Postdoctoral Program at the Weizmann Institute of Science invites exceptional International PhD Graduates to apply for a fully funded scientific visit.

Selected candidates will be invited to spend a week at the Weizmann Institute, March 8-13, 2026, to experience the vibrant research environment and connect with leading scientists.

  • PhD students nearing graduation in research institutes abroad, or those who have completed doctorate studies no more than two years ago.
  • Candidates must have at least one article in peer-reviewed scientific journals or equivalently prestigious peer-reviewed conferences as the first author, or equivalent.
  • The visit must be approved by the Chair of the postdoctoral training program.

Selected candidates are invited to a fully funded one-week scientific visit to the Weizmann Institute of Science:

During the visit, you will:

  • Meet one-on-one with potential host PIs
  • Tour advanced research facilities and core labs
  • Present your research to peers and faculty
  • Participate in scientific discussions and informal networking
  • Experience Israeli culture through guided social and sightseeing activities

If selected, the program covers:

Following the visit, the top candidates will be offered a postdoctoral position at the Weizmann Institute of Science.

  • One PDF containing your CV and publication list
  • Arrange two letters of recommendation ( One must be from your PhD advisor)
  • Letters must be sent directly by the referees to postdoc@weizmann.ac.il
  • Applications will be reviewed only after both letters are received.
  • After the visit, fellowship offers will be sent to selected participants.
